When the Zyn first landed, they gathered up insects and arachnids they found near their landing zones and began using them for forced labor in their efforts. The radiation from their ships and equipment started to have an effect on the bugs, causing them to start mutating and evolving. As their intelligence has increased, they started calling themselves Terra and began to form a small resistance movement against the Zyn. They played off of the Zyn’s belief that they were dim-witted and would “permanently borrow” tools, weapons and gear by simply pretending they “lost” them while looking confused about their importance to their masters. Once they had gathered enough stashes of loot, they rose up all at once and broke free during a Zyn shift change. They have made it their collective goal to not only break free of their control but to completely remove the Zyn from theirhome.
The Terra generally have 4 arms, 2-4 legs and one head, but there have been variants to this template based upon the mutating effects of the Zyn radiation and the origin species of insect or arachnid. They also range in height from 1/2” to 6”. They also have an exoskeleton protecting them from harm, to which they attach extra plating or equipment, but where the Zyn do it based upon mission or Corps assignment, the Terra seem to do it out of personal inclination and preference. The Terra, much like the Zyn, are deceptively strong. Additionally, an added side-effect of the radiation has been, what can only be described as, an ability to wield magic in some members of their Faction.
